Karapiro Willows is located a stone's throw away from Lake Karapiro, a lovely lake close the picturesque town of Cambridge.

The Lake, we soon discovered is a very busy place with Rowing, Water skiing, Wake boarding, Powerboat and Wake competitions, and not to mention the Domain which hosts Waitangi Day, Classic Car and Anzac day events. Hobbiton is a 20 minute drive over rambling farmland while both Waitomo Caves and the West coast uncivilized dark sand beach of Raglan are 55 minute away.
