PFPNet will accomplish this aim by setting a future technical agenda, and educating based on what has been learned from the past. PFPNet was launched in September via a one day technical meeting, which was held at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. PFPNet is a not for gain industry funded body focused on serving the needs of the users of hydrocarbon fireproofing materials and systems, through a focus on education, training, capturing and retaining existing knowledge, researching key topics, clarifying points of confusion and disseminating this to the membership, and to the industry at large all with the aim of improving quality. Since its inception in 2016, there has been tall levels of promote for PFPNet confirming that something needs to be done to improve the way that PCP systems are specified and installed around the world.
Specifically structured to reflect the PCP supply chain, the day consisted of four labor streams running in parallel design and specification material testing and certification application and installation and inspection, maintenance and repair. Delegates were randomly separate into groups and then split again for every session to ensure a genuine blend of industry expertise for each and every workshop. The PFPNet Steering Committee has a membership of individuals who have been selected to bring specific areas of experience to PFPNet, and collectively this group represents the perspective of Owners, Engineering Designers, Installers, Regulators, and Testing entities, and the Manufacturing community. The Steering Committee represents the views of the members, and provides independent governance of PFPNet, including the management of finances
